Pet Update#1 - All animals are now healthy. However we had a big scare last Fall as Eli injured his spine and was hind end paralyzed for awhile. With intense therapy and care he has made a remarkable recovery. He will always be a little lame but is a happy and active dog now. Zuzu has never returned. However Maris has an eye on some other strays that frequent our yard.
Pet Update#2 - The orange cat that Maris saw on the deck was a wild and feral cat that would never become a house cat. During some very cold days the cat would wonder to our deck so I fed her and then trapped her. Very vicious and unfriendly - unlike her appearance. However her desire for an orange cat has been fulfilled. After our county humane shelter announced that they had received so many animals that they may have to euthanize some of them. We and many others came forth to adopt 163 animals from the shelter last weekend - the result is "Watson"-

Dad Bicycling again after 20 years - old Trek 415
*On Christmas Eve 2007 Zuzu wandered into our garage - emaciated dirty and sick. We captured her and took her to the vet. No owner could be found so after two months we claimed her. Zuzu never showed any desire to go outside but then our fat cat, Zuzu, ran away in November. She was trapped after the kids saw her run through the yard 6 weeks later in December. She had been hiding under a neighbor's house in the freezing weather. She was less than 5 pounds and was filthy. She spent the next four months regaining her weight and never wanting to go out. Zuzu spent most of her time downstairs in the basement with dad. Then, on April 23rd (2009) she ran out the door as the kids were leaving for school and hasn't been seen since. 2011 - No Mac's Island this Summer as we went to Justin's BSU orientation that week. However, we may make a short trip to NYC in July.
